# Using GPU Ninja in ChatGPT > Enable GPU Ninja's sign-in-free connector in ChatGPT, and how it differs from the consumer MCP server that Claude uses. URL: https://gpuninja.com/docs/chatgpt Last updated: 2026-10-05 ## Enable GPU Ninja ChatGPT lists GPU Ninja's connector, a sign-in-free MCP server at `https://connector.gpuninja.com/mcp`. 1. Find GPU Ninja in ChatGPT's plugin directory. 2. Enable it. That's all. There's no GPU Ninja account to create and no sign-in step, and GPU Ninja never learns who you are. The plugin is available in every country where ChatGPT offers plugins. ## What you can ask The connector has ten read-only tools. ChatGPT can search graphics cards and GPU chips, read a card's or chip's full specification, compare up to three cards, check which PC cases a card fits (and which cards fit a case), find which AI models a card has enough VRAM to run and which cards can run a model, and list benchmark results. The tools can't change anything. Try asking: - "Which graphics cards with at least 16 GB of VRAM fit in a Fractal North?" - "Compare the ASUS ROG Strix 4090 with the MSI RTX 4080 Super Gaming X." - "Which cards in stock can run Llama 3.3 70B at 4-bit?" Using the MCP servers (https://gpuninja.com/docs/mcp#tools) describes every tool, its arguments, and how search, filters and paging work. ## How the connector differs from the consumer MCP GPU Ninja runs two MCP servers on the same open-source core. They have the same ten tools, read the same data and give the same answer to the same call. Only how each is deployed differs: | | Connector (ChatGPT) | Consumer MCP (Claude) | | --------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Endpoint | `https://connector.gpuninja.com/mcp` | `https://mcp.gpuninja.com/mcp` | | Sign-in | None. Any `Authorization` header is ignored | Free registration through OAuth | | Identity | None | Your verified email address | | Daily digest | Not involved | New accounts are subscribed by default, with an opt-out | | Rate limit | One ceiling shared by all users: 200 requests every 10 seconds, counted at each Cloudflare location | Per user: 60 tool calls a minute, 300 requests a minute, 5,000 tool calls a day | | Logging | A quarter of successful requests, and every error or refusal, including every "busy" response | Every request | | Browser-based clients | Accepted only from chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com and platform.openai.com | Accepted only from claude.ai and claude.com | Why two servers? ChatGPT doesn't accept plugins that ask you to create a new account, so its listing uses the connector. Claude supports OAuth sign-in, so it lists the consumer server, whose registration lets GPU Ninja apply limits per person and offer the daily digest (https://gpuninja.com/docs/digest). Registration was never needed for the data itself: it's also open through the public API (https://gpuninja.com/docs/api). ## Using the connector from other clients The connector isn't tied to ChatGPT. Any MCP client that supports remote servers over Streamable HTTP can add `https://connector.gpuninja.com/mcp` with no authentication. Use the address exactly as shown: `/mcp/` with a trailing slash isn't found. Clients that run in a web browser are accepted only from ChatGPT's and OpenAI's own sites; clients that don't run in a browser, such as desktop apps, command-line tools and servers, aren't affected. If you'd like your own rate limits, or to use GPU Ninja in Claude, see Using GPU Ninja in Claude (https://gpuninja.com/docs/claude-connector). ## When GPU Ninja is busy The connector's rate limit is shared by everyone using it. When the ceiling is reached, it answers HTTP `429` with `Retry-After: 10`, and the message reads "GPU Ninja is busy: too many requests right now. Try again in 10 seconds." It doesn't mean you did anything wrong. Wait a few seconds and ask again. Depending on how ChatGPT handles the `429`, you may see this as a failed tool call rather than as the message itself. See Limits (https://gpuninja.com/docs/mcp#limits) for the full details. ## Privacy The connector receives no identity from ChatGPT and never reads the identifiers ChatGPT attaches to requests. It never logs your IP address, your request contents, tool arguments such as search text, or results. For the requests it does log, it records the time, the route, the status, how long the request took, the software version, the MCP method and tool name, which argument names were used, the public catalogue item looked up, the outcome, the result count, the protocol version, the client software's name and a Cloudflare request ID. Logs are kept by Cloudflare, as processor, for the Workers Logs default, currently 7 days. See What is logged (https://gpuninja.com/docs/mcp#what-is-logged) and the privacy policy (https://gpuninja.com/legal/privacy). The connector carries no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links, and tool results never promote sign-ups. ## Troubleshooting | Problem | What to do | | ------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | "GPU Ninja is busy" | Wait a few seconds and try again. | | ChatGPT can't connect to GPU Ninja | Try again shortly. If it persists, contact Support (https://gpuninja.com/docs/support). | | An answer differs from the website | After a data update, caches can take up to five minutes to catch up. | | GPU Ninja doesn't recognise a card or case | Ask ChatGPT to search for it first, or check whether it's in the catalogue on gpuninja.com. |
